About Us

The Ruby Cube is a UK 3D visualisation studio specialising in ecology, Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) and landscape regeneration. For over 15 years we've helped clients turn concepts, data and design intent into clear, compelling imagery.

Our roots are in architectural visualisation, and over the years our focus has grown outward — first into landscape and garden design, and now into ecology and nature recovery. That journey means we bring an architect's eye for detail and composition to environments where the "design" is a living, changing habitat. We still take on architectural, retail and commercial CGI projects too — but our specialism today is making environmental change visible.

We work with developers, planners, ecologists, conservation organisations and public bodies to show not just how a place looks now, but how it could look as nature recovers. From before-and-after renders and habitat animations to 360° virtual tours and terrain built from real LiDAR and GIS data, our work bridges the gap between technical ecological information and the people who need to understand it.

how we work

1. Understand the site

We start with your data — LiDAR, GIS, survey information, management plans and design intent — so the visualisation is grounded in the real place, not a generic impression.

2. Build it accurately

We reconstruct the terrain and habitats from that real-world data, layering in planting schemes, species and landscape features to reflect what's actually proposed.

3. Show the change over time

Because nature recovery happens in stages, we can visualise a site at establishment, and years into the future — making a management plan tangible in a single image or sequence.

4. Deliver for your audience

Whether it's a planning application, funding bid, stakeholder session or public consultation, we produce the right format — stills, animations or interactive 360° tours — to get your message across.
